Deadly Crash

HARBESON, Del. — Delaware State Police Delaware identified 26-year-old Bernardino Perez-Garcia of Georgetown as the man who died in single-vehicle crash that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police say around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday November 26, Perez-Garcia was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe on Route Nine east of Fawn Lane. For reasons yet unknown, the car veered off the south edge of the roadway, colliding with a tree before erupting in flames. 

Lewes-Georgetown Highway was temporarily closed for approximately four hours to facilitate the crash investigation and clear any impediments from the roadway.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is diligently examining the circumstances surrounding the incident. Witnesses to the crash are urged to contact Senior Corporal J. Smith at (302) 703-3267.
