(HARRINGTON, Del.) - A Milford Juvenile was arrested in Harrington Sunday after he fled from Harrington Police in a vehicle.
While on patrol at 11:45 pm Sunday, police attempted to stop a vehicle when it fled from officers. Officers on patrol attempted to stop a vehicle on South DuPont Hwy. after the vehicle was clocked traveling 70 MPH in a 45 MPH zone and later traveling in excess of 95 MPH in a 50 MPH zone. Police attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle fled from officers and led officers in a vehicle pursuit.
As the vehicle fled it committed numerous traffic violations and the pursuit went through several streets within town. While on Wolcott Street in the area of Dorman Street, officers were able to block in the suspect's vehicle causing the vehicle to stop and the suspect, identified as a 16 year old Milford Juvenile, fled from the vehicle on foot. After a short foot pursuit the juvenile was taken into custody.
While searching the vehicle police located a black BB gun that the juvenile had concealed in the seat. The juvenile was transported back to the Harrington Police Department for processing. The juvenile was charged with over 40 charges including Resisting Arrest, Driving without a License, Aggressive Driving, Carrying a concealed deadly Instrument and numerous other traffic violations. The juvenile was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was released to the custody of his mother pending a future court appearance in Kent County Family Court.
