BRISTOL, CT-- The Delmar Little League Softball team uses a huge eight run 4th inning to guide themselves to a win over Georgetown in the Mid-Atlantic LL Softball Tournament in Bristol, CT.
The win sends Delmar to the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina, which begins on August 8th.
It took a while for the Delmar bats to get going, as Georgetown starter Makayla Eikenberry held Delmar scoreless with just two hits through three innings.
However, the Delmar bats would spark up in the top of the 4th, as Delmar put up eight runs on seven hits, which included RBIs from Avery Naugle, Macy Rickards, Audrey Senft, Kate Quade, and Ella Twilley.
After giving up two runs in the opening frame, Rickards, Delmar's ace, was nails the rest of the way on the mound. She finished the night with seven strikeouts, while only allowing three runs on five hits in the complete game effort.
