(CRISFIELD, Md.) - Gary Rudolph Jones (aka "Man" is being held in the Somerset County Detention Center on $75,000 bail, bail review Monday morning.
Crisfield Police Department officers responded to the area of the Crisfield Housing Authority for a suspect armed with a weapon. Upon their arrival they observed a green Mercury Marquis parked near 140 Somers Cove Apartment with an occupant known to police as a local gang member (Bloods), the suspect matched the description given to our dispatch.
Upon walking up on the vehicle, a shotgun could be observed next to the driver's seat of the vehicle. For the safety of the officers, Jones was ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint. He was ordered to the ground and the individual failed to comply, the officers had to forcibly take the suspect into custody.
The shotgun was found to be a Stevens model 320, 12 gauge shotgun with an obliterated serial number. The shotgun was loaded with one round chambered to fire, (4) rounds in the magazine and 2 additional rounds on the stock of the magazine.
The officers knew the suspect was a convicted felon and could not possess a weapon or ammunition. Minor injuries were sustained by the officers in the scuffle to arrest and detain the suspect.
At a Bail Hearing Monday morning, Judge Paula Price revoked Jones bail and sent him to Wicomico County Detention Center.
