Artwork for Sale at Milton Arts Guild Holiday Market & Virtual "Holly Days" Exhibit

MILTON, Del.- Holiday gifts with a personal touch.

The Milton Arts Guild is hosting their holiday market at their gallery on Walnut Street. You will find many pieces such as wood pieces, jewelry, paintings, and other items.

It is the perfect time to buy gifts from a local non-profit who uses the money for supplies to make even more pieces. The market will be open each weekend through December 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

President Sue Dutton hopes the market and virtual gallery will interest people and they will come to see the members’ work

"It’s important that we show that we have a presence here in Milton and that we are still alive," Dutton said. "Because even though we are doing it virtually, the people in town may not see that. So, we have signs around town telling them about our holiday market and we have a plan in place so people can proceed through the market safely."

This is the second time since the start of the pandemic that the gallery is open to the public. All of the work you will see at the holiday market and online is handmade by a Milton Arts Guild member.

Artists have been able to keep busy during the pandemic creating many different pieces. Crafter Elaine Petrowski and others are also taking the time to learn new skills from their fellow artists.

"It is hard to focus. It is hard for everyone to focus I think during this," Petrowski said. "So, finding an outlet that keeps you creative and keeps you busy is paramount at this point."
