UPDATE: Cape Henlopen School Board Elections

LEWES, Del. - On Thursday night, the Cape Henlopen School District held its first ever "State of the District."

"We're doing a lot of great things. So any chance we have to talk about those great things as well as the challenges and how we're going to overcome those challenges, that's why we do what we do,” said superintendent Bob Fulton.

In addition to touting accomplishments like high test scores, and well-performing extracurricular activities, Fulton also discussed enrollment increases, and proposed renovations to school facilities.

After learning about the State of the District, guests were encouraged to stay for a gallery walk to learn more information about the state of each individual school.

"They may have a student in one school, but maybe haven't gone to the other schools if they recently moved here, and this really gives you a good reflection of just what we're doing across the district,” said Nikki Miller, Principal of Cape Henlopen High School.

Parents say events like these are a great way to show community members why local schools need their support.

The district is celebrating 50 years of academic achievement, and looking towards the future.
