(OCEAN CITY, Md.) - The Town of Ocean City is reminding select properties throughout town of an ordinance passed in September 2015 requiring the posting of signs advising citizens that disorderly conduct is prohibited.
According to the ordinance, commercial properties, condominium and apartment buildings with four or more dwelling units and places of worship that have parking fronting Baltimore Avenue, Coastal Highway or Philadelphia Avenue shall post the property with signage provided by the Town of Ocean City and installed by the owner at location(s) approved by the Ocean City Police Department. Property owners that meet the criteria and do not have proper signage in place could be subject to a progressive fine of $50 for the first infraction and $100 if not reconciled within ten days.

This ordinance was enacted by the Mayor and City Council in 2015 in an effort to warn citizens that it is a violation of State law for a person to willfully act in a disorderly manner that disturbs the public peace.
