(BETHANY BEACH, Del.) It was championship Sunday at the Sea Colony.Top-seeded Danielle Collins took on Lauren Embree at the Seventh Annual Resort Quest Pro Women's Open.
Collins was on her game as she defeated Embree 6-2,6-0.
Collins said she always wants to be the best and on Sunday she was.
"It is such a great time here in Bethany Beach and it my first time here and I played too finals in the last two events and lost in the finals both times and it it was kind of tough and I was kind of determined to come out and finally win one,"said Collins.
Tournament Director Thomas Johnston presented Collins with the Trophy.
"Well, Danielle Collins was at the top of her game,"said Johnston."She was super consistent and she was pretty unstoppable today and I think we will see her in the top 100 in the next year,"said Johnston.
Collins said she would like to come back next year. The only thing stopping her would be an invitation to qualify at the French Open.
"It is great because I will have a whole year and work on things and get better and improve my ranking,"said Collins."It is definitely something I would love to play in and I think everyone dreams of playing in but luckily I will be able to play in the qualifying draw of Wimbledon,"said Collins.
