SUSSEX COUNTY, Del.- Whether you live here or are visiting, one thing most people love about Delmarva is the sky. This weekend you can bring sunsets and sunrises home with you. The Big Skies exhibit is on display at the Peninsula Gallery in Lewes. Local artist Nick Serratore captures Delmarva skies using pastels. He says skies are normally the background of a painting, but he believes the many colors and skylines of Delmarva deserve to be recognized. You can browse the gallery but if you find something you love, everything is available for purchase. The exhibit is up until November 21.
"There are times when you look up and you see the most just jaw dropping unsets and also sun sunrises. When storms come through, the powerful furious clouds that are above you. The thing is though, I'm sure we've all done is say, Look at that! But then in a second they're gone," said the artist.
Heading to Milton, Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding is kicking off its Holiday Market. Shop local vendors, gifts from artists, and of course, get to know the facility and horses. The market runs Sunday from 10 to 4.
Thanksgiving is still over a week away but Friendsgiving is around the corner. Lewes Crossing is hosting a potluck Thanksgiving dinner at the Clubhouse. This Sunday from 1 to 4, bring a dish a drinks to share while trying your luck at a 50-50 raffle and of course, watching football. The dinner also benefitting the Rehoboth Community Resource Center. You're asked to bring a food or toiletry donation to the dinner to help families in need. For every item you donate, you'll name will be entered into a raffle.
