LEWES, Del.- Children ages 0 to 17 account for just 12 percent of Delaware’s COVID-19 positive cases, but there continues to be concern for their safety. With kids now spending most of their time inside, getting out and doing something different could keep them occupied.
Lefty's Alley and Eats in Lewes is limiting contact with equipment by having bowling balls ready for you at your lane. Once your stay is over, balls are cleaned with a fog machine. The alley offers Kids Eat Free Fridays with the purchase of an adult meal and ten dollar unlimited laser tag.
"In our arcade, we have someone going around every 20 minutes wiping down everything and keeping everything as clean as possible," Digital Brand Manager Billy Boges said. "We also have people walking around to make sure everyone is keeping social distancing and trying to keep everyone just safe, trying to keep everyone healthy."
Shell We Bounce Trampoline Park is a fun place where kids can go and get some exercise. Participate in a game of dodgeball, slam dunk, and if jumping is not for you, enjoy the arcade and win some prizes.
In complying with Governor Carney’s mandates, hand sanitizer stations can be seen and Owner Jim Derrick says a face covering needs to be worn by most visitors.
"Everyone that comes in needs to have a mask and while they are bouncing they have to have a mask," Derrick said. "Some of the youngest kids, five and under, we don’t require them to have it at all times but the kids that are older we want them to have a mask on."
A giant fan and an ozone machine allow for clean air to circulate throughout the day. Surfaces are power washed every day at closing. Besides staff cleaning surfaces, visitors to the park will have to do their part in making the experience safe for everyone.
"As long as everyone does what they are supposed to be doing and wearing their masks, we are staying safe as best we can during these times," Derrick said.
Lefty’s Alley and Eats opens at 11 a.m. every day, while Shell We Bounce Trampoline Park opens at 10 a.m. daily.
