Delaware Man Throws a Fit, Assaults Female Wawa Employee

(NEW CASTLE, Del.)- Delaware State Police have arrested a Bear man after he assaulted a female employee of a local Wawa early this morning.

The incident began this morning, Thursday, February 19, 2015, at approximately 2:30 a.m., as a male suspect, later identified as Terron A. Reed, 36, of Bear, entered the Wawa convenience store located at 1400 Beaverbrook Plaza, New Castle.

Reed then ordered a food item from the deli area of the store; however, after he was advised that it could not be made the way he requested, he became disorderly and threw a coffee display stand at a 23 year old female employee.

He then went behind the deli counter and began to strangle the employee before throwing her to the ground.

Reed then fled from the store after threatening to shoot several other employees.

He then fled the parking lot in a grey SUV, but was then stopped by responding troopers who were on patrol in the immediate area, on US Rt. 13 at Bear Road.

Terron Reed was arrested and transported to Troop 2, Glasgow, where he was charged with Strangulation, two counts of Disorderly Conduct, two counts of Terroristic Threatening, Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, and several traffic offenses.

He was then arraigned at JP Court 11 and released on $5500.00 unsecured bail.

The female employee was not injured.
