Destination Development Program Launches To Help Businesses With Marketing & Make Delaware Attractive To Tourists

DELAWAREExtending a helping hand to small businesses in the first state.

As part of a Destination Development Program, the Delaware Tourism Office will choose three businesses in each of the three counties. They will be getting information on travel, marketing, and business progression from experts. The office will also be selecting fifteen people, five from each county, for workshops to assist in those areas.

Director Liz Keller hopes the information can be passed from professional to professional to make Delaware more attractive to tourists.

"We want those who are applying to want to share that knowledge and experience, so it doesn’t just stop with people participating in the program but ripples out into the industry," Keller said. "You know, rising tide floats all boats. The more people we have experts in marketing, the more people will know about Delaware."

Workshops will happen once a month with each session focusing on a new topic. Experts will follow up with business owners for a one-on-one discussion.

Applications are due by March 15. Go to visitdelaware.com/ddp to apply and find out more information.
