Donation Made to be Used on Canalfront Park in Lewes

LEWES, Del.- Peter Issel, and other members of the organization made a donation to the endowment in the amount of $10,000 for the use on Canalfront Park. This is an additional donation alongside the money that is added to the fund on a yearly basis. The total funds is now up to $161,000 to be used for the park. The money will go towards on going maintenance, and additional up keep and additions to the park to keep it up to the standards of the visitors.  Peter Issel, from the Friends of Canalfront Park said, "It might be to keep furniture, it might be signage, it might be game tables which is our latest endeavor which is used by a lot of people now. And so we want to keep the park up to date and we want to have it interest people to go into the park and use it and be able to enjoy it." In addition, the Friends organization has contributed $54,000 towards the park projects, including permanent signage, a water fountain, outdoor chess and checker tables, and support for a new floating dock. The group says the park is used for many events throughout the year such as Pooches in the Park, Oktoberfest, concerts movies and much more.
