(MILFORD, Del.) - A group of Milford teens are facing a long list of charges after police say they went on a nine day-long crime spree.
18 year-old John Harmon Jr. of Milford and four others were arrested Wednesday after police say the teens wreaked havoc throughout Milford.
22 year-old, A.J. Jarvis said he had never seen a police presence on his street like the one he saw Wednesday afternoon.
"I saw the police ride up--three of them. Then it turned into like 14, with a S.W.A.T. truck and everything."
Milford Police caught a break in the case. A tip from a concerned resident led them to a house on the 200 block of South Washington Street where police said Harmon and three other suspects had been hiding out.
The four, which included three minors between the ages of 16 and 17, were arrested and taken into custody.
Although a 16-year-old male suspect hid in the house for about two hours before he finally surrendered to police. One other suspect surrendered to authorities Wednesday morning.
The five individuals were charged with a number of weapons and robbery related crimes, stemming from four separate instances.
Police say the group burglarized and stole from a home in the 900 block of SE Front Street on September 22.
They're also accused of robbing a Kent County Valero shore shop on Bay Rd. along Route One on September 25 at gunpoint, possibly wearing a Spiderman disguise.
Milford Police also believe the teens are connected to the attack of a
Sussex County man-- just two days after, allegedly, stealing a credit card from a female in Memorial park.
Neighbors were stunned at the arrests.
"They're good kids to me, that's why I was shocked, Jarvis said. It was sad."
Corey Mitchell, 20, said they'll grow from it.
"It ain't gone kill them. They'll be alright."
Harmon is in Sussex County jail on $59,000 bail.
The four minors were transported to Stevenson House Detention Center with varying bails.
