Greenwood Man arrested for sexual offense

(Greenwood, Del) - The Delaware State Police have charged Michael D. Bass, 42 of Greenwood, in connection with alleged sexual offenses that occurred with two female victims while in his care.

The investigation began on June 4, 2015 when the first victim came forward to report she had been inappropriately touched while in the care of Michael D. Bass. Bass is accused of touching a 10-year-old and a 14 year old female victim improperly. The crimes allegedly occurred at the victim's home on Adamsville Road (CR571), Greenwood, dating back to May 2014. The reported incidents occurred from May 2014 to June 2015. During that time period, it was alleged that Michael Bass had sexually touched both victims on two different occasions.

Michael D. Bass was charged with one count of unlawful sexual contact 1st degree and one count of unlawful sexual contact 2nd degree. Bass was arraigned at JP2 and was released on $13,000 unsecured bond pending further court action.

Because of the sensitivity of this case, and in consideration of the victims, only limited information will be released.
