Lewes Woman Drives Through Liquor Store

(LEWES, Del.) - One wrong move has left Roadsters Wine and Spirits with a big hole and a large mess.

Police say it happened around 11:49 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016, when 50-year-old Georgia L. Daniels of Lewes was operating a 2004 Cadillac CTS in the parking lot. Police say Daniels was attempting to turn around in the parking lot when she placed the car in reverse and accelerated into the side of the liquor store.

Kiritkumar R. Patel, 59 of Milton, was seated in his office inside the store when the care came crashing through. He was trapped for approximately 20 minutes before the Lewes Fire Company could free him. Patel was uninjured in the crash.

Police say Daniels, a 29-year-old male passenger, and a 3-year-old child were all properly restrained and uninjured in the crash. Police say alcohol was not a contributing factor and no charges were filed in this incident.
