OCEAN CITY, Md.- Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced the expansion of Operation Save a Life Tuesday afternoon.
In partnership with the Worcester Warriors Against Opioid Addiction, Worcester Goes Purple, and Jolly Roger Amusement Park, a box with naloxone was installed in the amusement park’s ticket booth. Experts say it is critical to use if someone was experiencing an overdose. Governor Hogan says it takes everyone to attack the epidemic.
"This crisis is more than just a health crisis," Hogan said. "It literally is tearing apart families and communities from one end of our state to the other and across our nation. And ultimately this really is about saving lives. And it’s going to take all of us working together to achieve that goal."
This expansion follows the launch of the Maryland Overdose Stop Strategy by Lieutenant Governor Boyd K. Rutherford last week.
