DELAWARE - A previous candidate for Attorney General and Governor of Delaware is on the general election ballot to run for AG as a Republican.
Although the filing deadline was in July, state Republican Party leaders under election law were still able to fill a vacancy on the ballot. Dave Graham is the only declared Republican candidate for Attorney General, and therefore does not face a challenge in the Sept. 15 primary.
Graham spoke about his candidacy Tuesday on The Rick Jensen Show on WDEL, CoastTV's sister station.
"The people of Delaware, they deserve a Department of Justice guided by justice, integrity and accountability where laws are enforced fairly and consistently, law enforcement has a strong partner, and the safety of Delaware families comes before politics. That's the leadership I intend to bring to the Attorney General's office," Graham said.
Graham was a write-in candidate against the late Beau Biden in 2010. He has been consistently active in GOP politics.
Graham has more than two decades in state government and public finance and senior executive management experience in private industry. He is a retired Delaware-licensed CPA. Currently, Graham works as a regional CDL-A truck driver for Perdue Transportation of Georgetown.
"I will surround myself with outstanding attorneys and law enforcement professionals and hold the department accountable for results," Graham said. "My background as a business manager and my experience as an Army Sergeant when I was very young taught me leadership, discipline, accountability and how to make difficult decisions."
