Md. - The Maryland Department of Natural Resources announced that the first part of Maryland’s muzzleloader deer season runs from Oct. 19 to 21 statewide.

The department says hunters in the state’s central, southern, and eastern regions can also use muzzleloaders from Oct. 23 to 28 for antlerless deer only.

The department says for the 2023 to 2024 season, the statewide bag limit for white-tailed bucks is set at two deer. Maryland hunters in the central, southern, and eastern regions of the state have the option to take an additional bonus buck after purchasing a Bonus Antlered Deer Stamp. The stamp cannot be used during the early muzzleloader season.

According to the department, the early muzzleloader season for sika deer of either sex is open statewide Oct. 19 to 21. The antlerless-only sika deer season runs from Oct. 23 to 28.
