OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Ocean City Police Department will celebrate the opening of its new downtown substation with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, July 15, at 11 a.m.

The event will take place at the corner of South Baltimore Avenue and Somerset Street. According to organizers, the substation is part of a broader investment in public safety, community outreach and downtown revitalization.

The upcoming substation will serve as a major hub for the OCPD, featuring:

  • State-of-the-art offices
  • Meeting spaces
  • Interview rooms
  • A bicycle repair garage
  • A public lobby
  • Public restrooms

Partners in the project include the Town of Ocean City, the Ocean City Development Corporation, Becker Morgan Group and Gillis Gilkerson. Local officials, community leaders and members of the public are invited to attend.

The ceremony will feature remarks from city and project leaders, followed by a ceremonial ribbon cutting and tours of the new facility. The town broke ground on the substation in July 2024.
