Revelation Beer Gardens Return to Hudson Fields

MILTON, Del.- Get ready to grab a drink and grab a seat. Revelation Brewing Company has been busy preparing for its summer beer gardens, kicking off Friday.

The Beer Gardens are at Hudson Fields in Milton. Each weekend a portion of the proceeds benefit BeeBe Healthcare. This year Revelation is taking it a step further, adding an extra beer garden each week to help local non-profits and organizations.

"People love to come out with their families and their dogs, and listen to the live music, watch the sunset over like big farm fields. It's kind of a cool Sussex County vibe even though you're at the beach,” said Julie Hudson with Hudson Fields.

It’s more than just sipping beer and wine. Food trucks are pulling up for dinner and dessert. The Brandywine Valley SPCA is bringing by adoptable dogs. You can even get your workout in by joining the yoga class.

This year there are circular pods painted on the ground. Each pod can hold four to six people. Once inside the pod, and when you're eating and drinking, you can take your mask off.

This is the third year a portion of the proceeds will go to the Beebe Medical Foundation. The last two years, the beer gardens raised over 7-thousand dollars for the foundation.

"We put that towards out expansion plans and our expanding needs that we have in the county. The last two gifts we got from Revelation, we have been putting towards building our new specialty surgery hospital on Route 24,” said Tom Protack, President of the Beebe Medical Foundation.

It doesn’t stop with Beebe. June kicks off Thankful Thursdays, a beer garden that will benefit a new organization each week. This year the event will help Camp Arrowhead, Meals on Wheels, MERR Institute, Delaware Hospice, and more.

"The charities that we've reached out to have just been beyond humbled to be part of it and to be able to reach out to their communities, something they haven't been able to do in so long because of COVID. I'm just excited for it to stay," said Hudson.

The first beer garden starts Friday at 4 and runs until 9.
