On October 11, the report says that when the police arrived to the home the mother was outside her residence bleeding from her face and hand.
She advised the officers that her son stabbed her and said he wanted to kill them both by lighting the house on fire.
When officers we're inside the house they asked the woman what was on fire, Conner Salmon responds stating:
"I tried lighting the chair on fire but it wouldn't light because the wood is fake."
The report says that a lot of blood was found throughout the home. Blood was visible on a screwdriver and a steak knife.
Conner Salmon stated "I stabber her with a screwdriver" and "I beat the [expletive] out of her."
John Phoebus, a Salisbury criminal defense attorney who is not representing Salmon, gave his insight into the case:
"The circumstances are so bizarre, stabbing your own mother and attempting to burn your house down makes you question if there is any mental health defense raised."
Phoebus explained that under Maryland law a person is not guilty by reason of insanity.
Theresa Scott, who lives in the neighboring area said she was shocked to hear that this occurred in their community.
"You just don't know what's in peoples minds these days when stuff like that comes up. We don't know what goes on behind closed doors," Scott said.
Conner Salmon's hearing is set for November 5, 2015.
