Authorities say two people are dead after a BASE jumping accident in a Utah canyon. Sheriff's officials in Grand County, Utah, identified one of them as Andy Lewis, an extreme athlete known for performing tricks on a 1-inch line during Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show in 2012. The sheriff's office said in a news release that Lewis and an unidentified 50-year-old man died Sunday from injuries after a BASE jumping attempt in the remote desert area of Mineral Bottom. BASE jumping is a dangerous sport that involves parachuting from fixed objects such as buildings or desert cliffs. Lewis owned a business in Moab that took customers on BASE jumping excursions.
