Wilkerson was found guilty on all charges, including first degree murder, assault and possession of deadly weapons in the trial for the 2021 killing of Delmar Corporal Keith Heacook. The court heard details of the assault, including Wilkerson's erratic behavior and drug use. 

The Ocean City Police Department report that arrests are down. The department also reported the newly introduced body cams for the officers have brought less taser use and fewer assaults on officers.
