Secretary of State Marco Rubio is planning to host his foreign minister counterparts at a quintessential American sporting event. Rubio and a number of colleagues at the Group of 20 meeting of top diplomat are expected to attend Saturday’s college football game in Atlanta between Florida and Georgia. It's not clear which ministers might attend what's been called the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” due the large, boisterous crowds that the matchup attracts. U.S. officials say plenty of them have expressed interest in accompanying Rubio.

College football fans are buzzing about Week 9 after nearly three weeks of upsets Saturday features two Top 25 matchups: No. 22 Arizona faces No. 13 Texas Tech, and No. 17 Florida takes on No. 3 Georgia in Atlanta. Arizona is on a five-game winning streak, while Texas Tech looks to rebound from a recent loss. Florida, a 12.5-point underdog, hopes to surprise Georgia. Meanwhile, No. 6 Utah remains unbeaten and visits Cincinnati. Ohio State, with quarterback uncertainty, plays Southern California.

The Carolina Panthers fired defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley on Friday following the team’s 27-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Evero is the first NFL coordinator fired this season. Carolina entered the week ranked 22nd in overall defense and last in the league against the run. Defensive line coach Todd Wash has been named interim defensive coordinator and will call the defensive plays, according to the Panthers.
