However, Elaine Rossi told the jury at Clancy's murder trial Wednesday that she never saw the Massachusetts mom as a danger to her kids. Clancy's defense doesn't dispute that she killed the children in January 2023, but argues she was overwhelmed by postpartum psychosis, a rare condition that affects women's hold on reality after childbirth. Prosecutors contend that Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, acted intentionally and is criminally responsible. If convicted, she faces life in prison without parole.
