...EXTREME HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110
degrees expected.

* WHERE...In Delaware, Kent and Inland Sussex Counties. In Maryland,
Caroline, Kent MD, Queen Annes, and Talbot Counties.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hottest temperatures and heat indices
will occur Monday and Tuesday. Low temperatures around 75 to 80
degrees and high humidity will not offer much relief from the heat
at night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter,
you can call 211 for assistance locating appropriate shelter from
the heat.

The City of Lewes continues to discuss changes to its manufactured home ordinance. With past recommendations, many people who live in the Donovan Smith Manufactured Home Community were worried that the city's idea of improvements would actually make things more dangerous.
