DELAWARE- Hate has no home here was the message during a webinar Saturday sponsored by the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice.
Over 270 people attended the meeting and listened to community members speak. Alliance Chair Charlotte King’s lawn was vandalized with weed killer last week with the word "Trump" spelled out. State leaders began the conversation and encouraged that acts of hate be stopped and love needs to be shown by everyone.
Like many of you, I am very sad about the things that have happened recently," 37th District Representative Ruth Briggs King said. "Like you, I work very hard to build a sense of community to keep us moving forward and into the light. So this darkness is very frustrating."
In our effort to re-stitch and repair the moral fabric, we have at our disposal the greatest weapon the greatest weapon of all which is love," Delaware Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester said.
Other speakers included religious leaders, community organization leaders, and children of the Wolfe Pointe community which is where King lives.
