SALISBURY, Md. - Cape Henlopen graduate and Oakland A's second baseman Zack Gelof became the youngest inductee ever to be included in the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame, according to the organization's board. Gelof is 24. His parents, Adam and Kelly, were at Perdue Stadium for the ceremony on Sunday.

Gelof was drafted to the majors in the second round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft, following a successful collegiate career at UVA.

He now joins other Eastern Shore greats in the Eastern Shore Hall of Fame like Harold Baines, who was inducted in 2008 and was also part of the National Baseball Hall of Fame class of 2019, and Frank "Home Run" Baker, who was inducted locally in 1995 and nationally in 1955.

Tune in to the Final Score later this week for more from the induction ceremony and to hear from Gelof, himself, about this honor.
