Staying in Southern Delaware Means More Money in your Pocket, with New Bike and Stay Packages

SUSSEX COUNTY, Del.- Having fun in Southern Delaware can actually save you money. Southern Delaware Tourism now has Bike and Stay packages, new deals that get people visiting the coast in the fall.

Even with many fall cancellations, Southern Delaware Tourism is making sure people know there's no shortage of things to do.

"Get intimate with our area. Come with your family come with your friends and get outside and explore. You can do so very safely," said Scott Thomas with Southern Delaware Tourism.

Bike and Stay helps you do just that. Each person who books a hotel with the package will get a personalized map, highlighting bike trails in the area. The map will show where you can bike, along with fun stops along the way like stores, restaurants, and museums. As well as getting fresh air, each package is helping you save money.

Hotels are already seeing success. The Bellmoor Inn and Spa booked 56 packages in just three weeks.

"Now that the weather is a little cooler we want people to get people out and about and to experience different things. We have great museums, great bike trails, the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. There's a lot to do in the off season that people don't really know about," said Benjamin Gray, general manager of the Bellmoor Inn and Spa.

Whether you use it for discounted ice cream, or to explore bike paths you've never seen before, Bike and Stay shows that Southern Delaware has even more to offer than the sun and sand.
