(WILLARD, Md.) - Maryland State Police are investigating a crash along Route 50 near Bent Pine Road that left a 46 year-old Salisbury woman in critical condition Saturday afternoon, police said.
Upon arrival, troopers said they identified that there was only one vehicle involved. They said the vehicle involved was identified as a 2009 black Dodge Journey.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the Dodge Journey was traveling east bound on U.S. Rt. 50 when it veered off the left side of the roadway. The Dodge Journey continued down into the median where it struck a tree. The operator of the Dodge Journey was identified as Ursula Evette Farlow, 46, of Salisbury.
Urusla Farlow was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center by Delaware State Police Medevac, police said. Once at PRMC Ursula Farlow's injuries were listed as critical and Farlow was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma by LifeNet Medevac. Police said, Farlow's family has been notified of the incident.
According to the report, at this time the collision is still being investigated by collision re-constructionists of the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack. The intersection was shut down for approximately two hours due to the nature of the collision. The Willards Fire Department and Maryland State Highway Administration assisted in the road closure and scene protection.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision, police said. Follow up investigations will continue into the condition of the operator of the Dodge Journey.
