UPDATE: Woman Dies From Gun Shot Wound to Head in Christmas Day Shooting

(SALISBURY, Md.)- Authorities say a woman who was shot in the head on Christmas Day has died. She was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where she was in critical condition, police said.

A suspect is in custody following a Christmas Day shooting in Salisbury that sent a woman in the hospital.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened just before 4 p.m. in the 1200-block of Kiowa Avenue.

Deputies have identified Jack Braboy, 24, of Salisbury, as the alleged shooter.They say Braboy shot a woman.

Police say Braboy fled the scene and the search was on. Wicomico County Sheriff's Office deputies and Maryland State Police troopers combed nearby area and later apprehended the suspect by Delaware Avenue.

Authorities say he's now facing charges of Attempted Murder and 1st Degree Assault. Braboy has been released to the Wicomico County Detention Center.
