Wicomico County Is Working Hard To Bring Hockey To This Area

(SALISBURY, Md.)- Friday is a big day for Wicomico County as they had a press conference to announce they are trying to bring hockey to the area.

Culver said with the improvements to the arena the time was now to pursue a team.

"You can tell we have done new flooring, new seats, the ceiling has been painted and everything has been redone.capitalize on the Civic Center, and once we got the beer and wine sales last year, that was the prerequisite of having a hockey team," said Culver.

President of Paramount Sports Services Jim Caplin signed an agreement with Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver to bring together a hockey franchise to the Civic Center.

"If we decide to build the ice rink there will be funding, the county will own all the supplies and we will not own the team," said Culver. "It will be owned by a group of investors. It will be a private-public ownership in that sense."
