WICOMICO COUNTY, Md- The saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. But in this case, it's also worth 500 dollars. Wicomico County Tourism is hosting a photo contest to show the best parts of the county on the Eastern Shore.
An award winning picture could be sitting in your camera roll right now. Wicomico County Tourism is accepting photos taken in the last two years. The goal is to show off the lifestyle in the county. Photos can show off shopping, and small businesses. Popular submissions show off parks and landscapes.
"First of all the people who are amazing, the architecture downtown is very beautiful, and not forgetting my alma mater Salisbury University," said Eleanor Siri Andoson of Salisbury.
Some people submit photos from the Salisbury Zoo. Others go for sports, like at a Shorebirds game. It's free to submit up to 10 photos.
The third place winner gets 100 dollars. Second place gets 250. The the first place winner gets 500 dollars and their photograph displayed on the Wicomico County Tourism website, in a Wicomico County Tourism E-newsletter, and in the next published Wicomico County Tourism Visitors Guide.
