(Bridgeville, Del) The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office is investigating a fire in Bridgeville, Delaware that damaged an abandoned dwelling.
The blaze, reported on December 10, 2014 at approximately 9:00 PM, occurred on Sussex Highway north of Newton Road in Bridgeville, DE. The Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company, assisted by Greenwood and Farmington Volunteer Fire Companies, extinguished the flames. The structure was reported as being abandoned for many years and was described to be in severe collapsed condition prior to the fire.
There were no working smoke detectors in the structure and no reported injuries occurred during the incident. A white male and female couple was last seen on the property on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Anyone with information about these people is asked to call the Office of the State Fire Marshal at (302) 856-5600.
The investigation continues while deputy fire marshals determine the origin and cause of this fire.
