(POCOMOKE CITY, Md.)- Pokomoke High School students were startled Wednesday when Cal Ripkin Jr. came to visit their school.
The school started a campaign to get the Hall of Famer to speak at their graduation almost 4 months ago.

Students wore orange to make a "8" in a sports field to show support, on October 2, 2014.
Eight is the number that "The Iron Man" wore when he was with the Orioles.
The student run campaign #WeWantCal spread through social media and blowing up the hashtag #CalRipkin.
