LEWES, Del.- Deals and discounts helping keep money in our community. Tuesday and Wednesday, Blooming Boutique in Lewes is hosting a two day event to turn people away from Amazon's Prime Day, and focus locally.
Clothing, shoes, and accessories, oh my! All things you can shop for on Amazon, can also be found right in your backyard.
"Deals up to 75-percent off. Plus really, really good deals every two hours. We have scarves that are usually 17.99... only five dollars right now. What a great deal! They're green and gray, even Eagles fan colors," said owner of Blooming Boutique, Michiko Seto.
The two day event launches new deals every few hours. Showing you it's just as easy, if not easier, to take your business from big name to local.
"We want people to think about and support small businesses this year. We want to keep them here and around here. But I know a lot of people are struggling to pay the bills and stay open this year," said Seto.
She says there are many benefits to shopping in person. Along with getting to see items up close and personal, there's usually more merchandise. But if you prefer the comfort and ease of shopping online, local stores offer that as well.
"When you spend money locally, the money stays locally. When you shop on Amazon or Etsy or whatever, that money is not staying in you backyard," said Seto.
Blooming Boutique Days runs all day Tuesday and Wednesday. Seto hopes to make it an annual event, including other Lewes businesses in the future.
