(LEWES, Del.) - The weekend is filled with activities. Shops are having sidewalk sales all weekend long.
"Sidewalk sales are always exciting because people are always looking for a great deal or something unusual," says Twila Farrell, who owns a store on Second Street.
Saturday is Boast the Coast.
"Boast the coast started 22 years ago," Betsey Reamer tells WRDE.
Reamer helped plan the activities. She is the executive director at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce.
Saturday there are events at the local parks and museums. There are also open houses at the art galleries in Lewes, such as the Cape Artists' Gallery on Third Street. Jerry's Seafood and Irish Eyes are also having seafood tastings.
Sunday is Coast Day. The University of Delaware's campus in Lewes is having events. People will have the opportunity to learn about the different research projects. There will be a crab cake contest, vendors, food trucks, and tours of the school will also be given.
"It's a fun event for the whole family," says Reamer.
