Body of Missing Dover Airman Found In Canal

(DOVER, Del.)-The body of a senior airman, who was declared dead earlier this month, has been found.

Dover Police confirm a coastal fisherman spotted a man's body along the rocks at low tide in the C-and-D Canal Thursday at about noon.

The Dover Police Department was working with the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) in the missing person's case involving Senior Airman Keifer Huhman. Huhman, of the 436thCommunications Squadron, did not report to duty on Monday, February 8th. At that time, DAFB authorities initiated a missing person investigation.

It was learned that Huhman was last seen on February 7th, at approximately 6-6:30PM as he was leaving his home in Blue Hen Apartments, in Dover. Huhman was operating a blue 1997 Ford Ranger with Florida tags.

On February 10th, the family of Keifer Huhman filed a missing person's report with the Dover Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit. Detectives from the Dover Police Department have since worked closely with DAFB authorities on this case.

The state's Division of Forensic Science used dental records to positive identify the man as Keifer Huhman.
