Businesses To Treat Shoppers During Downtown Rehoboth Beach Cookie Crawl

(REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.) - Rehoboth Beach Main Street has something sweet in store for shoppers as they pick up some last minute gifts on Friday afternoon. It's an annual cookie crawl that has been taking place for several years now.

From 4-8pm on Friday, December 21st, 2018, businesses will be handing out cookies, treats, and beverages to shoppers that come through their doors.

Different restaurants will be participating as well, like Indigo on Rehoboth Avenue. They'll be offering their Gajjar Halwa. It's a warm and buttery carrot pudding. WRDE's Mallory Metzner sat down with Executive Director of Rehoboth Beach Main Street, Karen Falk, to try it and to get the inside scoop on what to expect from the cookie crawl.

Falk explains that in the past, the cookie crawl had been a fundraiser for Rehoboth Beach Main Street. "What we really want to do is to just lure people into town. We want them to come into town, walk around, enjoy the holiday music from the different stores, the different hospitalities, it really is a hospitality night to get people to come into town and have a good time and do some last minute shopping, They're getting unique gifts and keeping it local at the same time. Not only are our stores participating, but there are also several restaurants that are mentioning after people eat their meals, they're going to bring their check and give them a special treat as well."
