(Georgetown, Del) - The killer of Georgetown officer Cad Spicer has been re-sentenced to life in prison. Derrick Powell was re-sentenced last Friday, February 9, 2018. He was originally sentenced to death for the murder of the Georgetown office in September 2009, but in 2016 the Delaware Supreme Court ruled the state death penalty unconstitutional. In 2017 the state house passed a revised death penalty, but the state Senate has yet to act upon the bill.
