(WHALEYVILLE, Md.)- Organizers have cancelled highly controversial events that a 'little person' advocate on Delmarva was asking folks to not attend.
The "Midget Paintball Manhunt" and "Live Midget Alligator Wrestling" were planned to happen at a restaurant in Worcester County, during the Ocean City BikeFest.
Lizzy MacDonald took to Facebook this week to write, "anyone planning to go to this event in Ocean City this weekend, DON'T DO IT. These ppl [people] throwing the event are having various activities that are VERY DISRESPECTFUL to me and my people aka little people."
According to sources, the nonprofit organization, Little People of America, plans to attend the events in protest.
"U [You] would think that they wouldn't have these kinds of event that's degrading to US LPs [little peoples]," wrote MacDonald.
Representative Lou Barletta, R-Hazleton (PA), is speaking at the Oasis Bar and Grill Friday, during a "Bikers for Trump" rally on September 16, during Ocean City BikeFest in Maryland.
The Oasis Bar and Grill has a variety of events planned during the 4-day event which includes a "Midget Paintball Manhunt" and "Live Midget Alligator Wrestling".
LPA urges its members, friends, and families to call Congressman Barletta's offices and tell him how disrespectful it is that he is choosing to connect himself with this establishment and these dehumanizing events.
Little People of America (LPA) is a nonprofit organization that provides support and information to people of short stature and their families.
But some folks are saying if the 'little person' is a hired actor/actress than he/she gave their consent to be on "display."
WRDE reached out to the bar and grill, via phone and email, as of Friday morning organizers were not available for comment.
