(Wicomico, Md.) - The Salisbury Police are investigating an assualt on July 4, 2016 at 8:17 p.m. A deputy responded to a reported domestic related altercation at a residence in the 800 block of East Road in Salisbury. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the residents, Kevin Jones and Lora Godwin. The deputy learned that the pair became embroiled in an altercation that turned physical when Godwin allegedly struck Jones with a baseball bat. It was then reported Jones reportedly used the same bat to strike Godwin. During the investigation the deputy observed signs of injury that supported a mutual assault, police said.
The deputy arrested both Jones and Godwin and transported them to the Central Booking Unit where they were processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following their initial appearances, both were detained in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond each.
