DEWEY BEACH, Del. - You can dine outside or buy alcohol to-go for another year in Dewey Beach.

Commissioners voted in 2020 to allow restaurants to offer expanded outdoor dining and takeout drinks under Governor Carney's State of Emergency order. House Bill 1 allows restaurants to keep offering these services through March 31st, 2022. Governor Carney signed HB 1 on March 23rd, 2021.

Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday afternoon to let restaurants keep their expanded outdoor dining as they have under the state of emergency order. Plans to expand premises for outdoor dining must be approved by the town manager.
