REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Dolle's Candyland in Rehoboth Beach is moving from its boardwalk location. The lease is set to expire in January 2021.
WRDE spoke with owner, Tom Ibach, who says rent has doubled, and it is "economically not feasible to continue at this location."
The plan is to move a couple doors down to Ibach's Candy by the Sea.
As for the iconic Dolle's sign, Ibach says it will be taken down. The sign is illegal under city code. He says the plan is to take the sign to the possible production facility on Route 1.
Dolle's has called the boardwalk home since 1927.
