Dozens of Photographers Celebrate Local Beauty, in Latest Exhibit at Peninsula Gallery

LEWES, Del.- Color and creativity are covering the walls of the Peninsula Gallery in Lewes. Celebrating local photographers, the Coastal Camera Club is the gallery's latest exhibit.

The Delaware Coastal Camera Club has hundreds of members, but only a few dozen of their photos were chosen for this exhibit. The show was juried by members of the Peninsula Gallery, picking only the best photos of nature, landscape, people, and more

This isn't the first time the Coastal Camera Club has shown work in the Peninsula Gallery but, it just might be the best.

"I believe this is the highest standard of photographic work that we have seen from them," said co-owner of Peninsula Gallery, Tony Boyd-Heron.

The Delaware photographers found inspiration in sea life, architecture, and plenty of beach shots. Something unique about this show is, even if you see a red dot, which means a photograph has already been bought, you can still ask the artist to reprint the photograph even in a different size. Something that isn't as easy to do with an original painting.

The Delaware Coastal Camera Club is made up of people of all ages and experience. Anyone is welcome to join, offering beginning photographers classes and advice to better their craft.

"The artwork is so diverse it shows that you can pick up a camera and it doesn't matter if it's an phone camera or a very expensive Nikon or Sony, and take a beautiful picture," said Brook Hedge with the club.

Each photographer was allowed to submit 5 photos. A difficult show to jury, each photographer ended up getting at least one of their photos picked.

Coastal Camera Exhibit is up now until August 29. You can view and purchase the artwork online or at the gallery.
