(EASTON, Md.)- A four-hour power outage left neighbors near Earle Avenue in the dark Friday night, and Easton Police say a 18 year-old Hit-and-Run driver is to blame.
According to the preliminary investigation, Robert Patchett Jr., 18, of Oxford, struck a utility pole on Earle Avenue and fled the scene. Police say the single-car collision happened around 10:30 p.m., November 28 in Easton.
At the time of the crash, Patchett was driving a 2000 Lexus RX300, according to the incident report. Officers found that vehicle one block away on Wilson Alley.
Patchett returned to the scene of the crash and told police he was the person behind the wheel of the 2000 Lexus RX300. He was arrested and charged with failure to control speed to avoid a collision, leaving
the scene of a property damaged accident, and negligent driving, according to Maryland's Case Search.
Power was restored around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29.
