Face Coverings that Protect You and Marine Life

LEWES, Del.- A local company is making face coverings that are colorful, comfortable, for a purpose... and for a porpoise. Print Coast 2 Coast in Lewes is joining with the Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute, or "MERR".

Each mask is 15-dollars but Print Coast 2 Coast is giving five of those dollars from every mask to the MERR institute to help them continue to protect marine life.

"We live at the ocean and the bay and have a special appreciation for those creatures that we get to see them and live with them," said Jay Diaz, owner of Print Coast 2 Coast.

Along with being a fashion statement, the locally designed coverings will help MERR during difficult times.

"We had to cancel all of our in person programs, all of our fundraiser.s so this certainly will help us maintain basic operational costs right now," said Suzanne Thurman, Executive Director of the MERR Institute.

She says marine life don't stop needing help even during a pandemic, and buying a mask is an easy way to help.

Each face covering is cotton and has two layers and ties to make them more comfortable. Each is washable so you can wear them longer, and in an effort to protect the environment.

"It's going to eliminate anything that is disposable. That is going into a landfill or going into the problem of excessive trash and pollution," said Thurman.

You can order your mask on the MERR Institute website or by calling or emailing Print Coast 2 Coast.
