DELAWARE/MARYLAND - Spooky season is well underway and lots of events happening this weekend encourage attendees to wear their costumes.

SUNFEST

A celebration of another successful summer season is underway in Ocean City. The 48th Sunfest kicks off Thursday, Oct. 19 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 22. Enjoy free live music throughout the entire event alongside more than 200 artisans, a beach maze, beach tennis, and more. There are bicycle and pet competitions on the boardwalk. Events for pets include a dock dogs diving competition and a pet costume contest. Organizers say bring your pets dressed for the Howl-O-Ween Pet parade and pageant. ZOMBIE FEST

The Milton Theatre is bringing the living and the undead together in downtown Milton on Saturday. Zombie Fest starts at 4 p.m. There will be a costume contest, live music, laser light show, and zombie walk that participants can join. Spooky drink specials include the "Walking Dead," "Blood Bag Margarita," and the "Thriller." 

Tickets can be purchased for the Rocky Horror Show: Live and for a screening of Hocus Pocus. 

ART WALK

Artists will display their work on the porches of historic homes in Milton on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Milton Arts Guild's annual Art Walk. Maps can be picked up at 107 Federal Street or along the route.

SPOOKY FARMERS MARKET

The Ocean Pines Farmers and Artisans Market is encouraging customers to wear costumes while they shop for spellbinding candles and soaps. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in White Horse Park, next to the Ocean Pines Administration Building and Police Department.

BEEBE HEALTHCARE DAY AT THE FARMERS MARKET

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is holding "Beebe Healthcare Day at the Market" on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Market organizers say customers can shop for fresh local food and then get their blood pressure checked and receive a flu vaccination.

DELMAR FARMERS MARKET

The Town of Delmar says its farmers market takes place on the third weekend of each month this fall. That includes Oct. 21 and Nov. 18. The market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at State Street Park, which was rededicated to Cpl. Keith Heacook this past year.

SCHELLVILLE

This Fall Harvest Fest behind the Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth Beach offers hair braiding, hay riding, pumpkin painting and roller skating. Schellville will be open on Oct. 21 from 3 to 8 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets.

HAUNTED TRAIL 

Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay says bring your Boo's to the bay for an adult party at the Tiki Bar on Friday and Saturday. The company says there will be pumpkin painting, pumpkin chunkin, costume contests and a haunted trail. Proceeds benefit the Indian River Volunteer Fire Co. and Delaware State Police Troop 7.

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

TRUNK OR TREAT

  • The Town of Selbyville says its third annual Trunk or Treat will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday rain or shine at the Selbyville Volunteer Fire Department.
  • Capital Elite Athletics in Seaford has a Trunk or Treat from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
  • The Town of Laurel says its 6th Annual Trunk or Treat will be held on Saturday at the Laurel Elementary School bus parking lot from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The town says Trick or Treaters may begin lining up at 6:45 p.m. on Evergreen Drive.
  • The Seaford Historical Society's Fall Festival will offer a Trunk or Treat on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Governor Ross Mansion. Organizers say bring your carved pumpkin for a contest. There will be wagon rides, a petting zoo and face painting. Admission costs 2 dollars, which benefits the historical society.

DELMARVACADE OF BANDS

High school marching bands from throughout the region will fill Wicomico County Stadium on Saturday. Wicomico County Schools says the bands competing include North Caroline High, Annapolis Area Christian High, Wicomico High, James M. Bennett High and Parkside High. The competition will begin at 5 p.m. and will run until 7 p.m. Snow Hill High, will perform at the end of the night. Admission to this event is $10 for adults and $5 for children and students. CHARITY CAR SHOW

Wright's Market in Mardela Springs's Fall Festival Car Show is on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is located at 9300 Old Railroad Rd. The event raises money to support local charities and others in need.

HISPANIC HERITAGE CELEBRATION

Milford High School is hosting a Hispanic Heritage Celebration from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday. The event is open to the community. Organizers say there will be food, face painting, community vendors, outdoor soccer activities, music and more. Milford High School Students may attend the dance that follows this event.

HOLIDAY FAIR

Get a head start on your holiday shopping and shop for holiday gifts, seasonal decor, puzzles, baked goods, crafts, china, crystal, and more at Avenue Methodist Church in Milford. The Holiday Fair is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

EASTERSEALS "WALK WITH ME" AND 5K RUN 

An event on Saturday is raising money for services, education, outreach, and advocacy so that people with disabilities and seniors can live, learn, work and play in our communities. The Easterseals "Walk with Me" and 5K Run is on Saturday at Baywood Greens in Millsboro. Check in for the race is at 2:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged for the Halloween trick-or-treat. SCARECROW MAKING FUNDRAISER

The Friends of Killens Pond State Park are holding a scarecrow-making fundraiser at Campground Pavilion 4 in Harrington on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. The address is 3015 Paradise Alley Rd. Organizers say all materials will be supplied, but bring your own wigs, hats and other accessories. Click here to get tickets. 

WAGS AND WHISKERS

Yarn & Bone Pet Supply is hosting this event at Hudson Fields in Milton from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be pet food manufacturers, pet food demonstrations, adoptable pets and pet related vendors. The Wags and Whiskers event page can be found at hudsonfields.com.

MARINE DEBRIS PLUNDER

The Maryland Coastal Bays Program is teaming up Ørsted for its 4th annual Marine Debris Plunder event. People on land or on the water can bring what they find to the West Ocean City Harbor from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 22. The drop-off site address is 12905 Harbor Rd. Organizers ask that attendees pre-register either online at mdcoastalbays.org, or call Sandi at 410-213-2297, ext. 106.
