DELAWARE/MARYLAND - Fall sidewalk sales in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach coincide with several big coastal events. 

GREYHOUNDS REACH THE BEACH

The retired racing greyhounds have returned to the Delaware Beaches for the 28th year. The event brings owners and adopters together to celebrate their hounds while raising money and awareness for greyhound adoption.

Registration can be done at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. Vendors will be set up there and at the fire hall next door.

Attendees can take part in boat tours, walking tours in historic Lewes and professional photo sessions. It all wraps up with a Star Wars-themed parade on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk Sunday morning. It starts at 10 a.m. at Grenoble Place. The full schedule can be found at grtb.org.

BOARDWALK BUDDY WALK

Greyhound Pet Adoptions of Delaware is sponsoring the 18th Annual Boardwalk Buddy Walk®, which takes to the boardwalk Saturday morning. Walkers are raising money and awareness for Down syndrome. The event starts at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand at 9 a.m. The fundraising goal is $75,000. Click here to register or to donate.  

ENDLESS SUMMER CRUISIN

Classic cars, hot rods and trick trucks are cruisin through Ocean City this weekend. Vendors and car shows can be seen at the Convention Center and Inlet Parking Lot. The 26th Annual Endless Summer Cruisin is in town through Sunday with boardwalk parades Friday and Saturday morning. The full schedule can be found at specialeventpro.com/endless-summer-cruisin.

FALL CRUISERS

More cruisers will be seen in Berlin at the Fall Cruisers vintage car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There is no charge for spectators. Registration for the show is 10 dollars. Streets will be closed for this event.

WINGS AND WHEELS FESTIVAL

New and vintage cars will be on display in Georgetown on Saturday for the 15th annual Wings and Wheels Festival. The sky meets the road with an assortment of jets and single-engine fighters all on display at the Delaware Coastal Airport. INDIAN SUMMER TRAIN AND TOY SHOW

New and vintage model trains in all gauges will be on display and for sale at the Roxana Firehouse on Saturday. It's the Delaware Seaside Railroad Club and Museum's Indian Summer Train and Toy Show. In addition, the club says it will be operating train displays running throughout the show, some of which have buttons you can push to watch different parts of the layout come to life. The show will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is 6 dollars, but children 10 and younger are free.

"THE 39 STEPS" PERFORMANCE

The Take Two Drama Club of Sussex Central High School is performing “The 39 Steps” by special permission of Concord Theatricals and Samuel French. Sussex Central High School drama instructor David Warick says the play is a "madcap version" of the famous Hitchcock spy thriller.

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

“The trick here is that the authors have the entire movie played on stage by only four actors," Warick says. "The craziness of that few people playing that many parts makes the play really funny and entertaining.”

PUMPKIN SCAVENGER HUNT

Hunt down painted pumpkins in a scavenger hunt in Berlin for the chance to win 100 dollars. Painted pumpkins can be found by walking throughout downtown Berlin and looking inside the storefronts. Organizers say pick up and return your entry form in the Berlin Welcome Center before October 30th. You must find all of the pumpkins to be entered. The drawing will be held on Halloween.

GERMAN OKTOBERFEST

More pumpkin painting is taking place at the 30th annual German Oktoberfest in Milford. That includes hay rides, a petting zoo, a German orchestra and more. The event takes place from 12 to 10 p.m. at 506 Seabury Avenue.

MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL 

A multicultural festival is in Cambridge from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday. It's happening at the corner lot of Race and Cedar Street.

NIGHTMARE'S HAUNTED HOUSE

Spooky season is officially underway with Nightmare's Haunted House in Laurel opening Friday night. Doors open at 7 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in October.

BOAST THE COAST

Boast the Coast is back in Lewes on Saturday with free activities to celebrate nautical heritage. That includes free boat tours, broadway showtunes and balloon art by Chuckles the Pirate.

SIDEWALK SALES

DEWEY GOES PINK

The 5K is sold out with almost 4,000 racers. The whole event at the Starboard raises money for the Sussex County Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. More donations can be made at deweygoespink.com
